At Google, we build products that organize the world's information and make it universally accessible to our users. These products are the lifeblood of who we are. As part of the Product Management team, you work closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch. You connect the technical and with the business, working with teams across Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Finance. With your technical expertise, you identify a project’s setback and generate solutions for resolving them quickly. As a Product Manager, you helps shape the future of Google products.
Interns at Google work on such stimulating challenges every day, building their own skills and contributing to the success of the business as they do it. You'll be paired with a product manager who will serve as your host and technical leader, and you'll work on projects that have a direct impact on the way Google operates. Projects assigned will be achievable within twelve weeks to ensure candidates are given a real experience of the full product management life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Launch products.
- Identify market opportunities and define product vision and strategy.
- Understand customer needs and gather product requirements.
- Develop new products and enhance existing products.
- Engage closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable execution schedule.
Minimum qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
- Must return to the MBA program upon completion of the internship.
- Be able to complete a 10-12 week program beginning in May, June or July 2014.
Preferred qualifications
- Must have a BSc/MSc/PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Work experience prior to the MBA program in product management, hands-on software development experience or related fields.
- Strong interest in the Internet and Google's technology and business.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and independent motivation.
- Excellent project management, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment.
- Analytical skills, and ability to tackle highly strategic and difficult business problems.
