Director, Technology Program Management for Automation

The team that you will work for is responsible defining and delivering highly scalable, reliable, automation and datacenter management platforms. They are building the next generation of Salesforce infrastructure. We're looking for someone that is passionate about people, technology and program management. You will work side by side with the executive leader of this group and the underlying teams to deliver the next generation of storage and processing platforms at salesforce.



To do this job well, you'll need a passion and innate understanding of business, a strong knowledge and interest in virtualization, configuration management, and datacenter automation, and thrive on driving critical programs and projects to completion.



In the short term, this role does not have any direct reports. However, it is responsible for one of the most important areas of salesforce's ongoing success. This job requires a leadership mindset, powerful influencing skills and the ability to successfully drive complex business and technology programs.

Role & Responsibilities include:

  • Build: the operational backbone for your Cloud Business Unit; drive the organization and cadence of work for every release and planning cycle.

  • Lead: functional and technical delivery of team-, org-, and company-wide initiatives from Idea-to-Customer. Deliver with radical transparency gumption. Be the "Go To" in leadership, transparency and visibility for the entire Technology & Products organization.

  • Drive: 160+ people across multiple teams to stay focused and moving forward on strategic goals while you aggressively manage dependencies and remove obstacles that stand between your team and business & customer success.

  • See: around corners and anticipate risks. Find and resolve the issues before they become blockers.

  • Partner: like a fiend; drive healthy relationships with diverse technical & non-technical roles spanning all organizational levels. Leverage your relationships to ensure innovative technical & product solutions for salesforce.com customers.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Be a thought leader within the organization, someone who can help advance our Product & Technology strategy globally and challenge others in the organization to change.

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or MBA preferred.

  • Experience in a web scale and processing that's delivered infrastructure as a service.

  • Excellent track record of successfully implementing and managing SaaS product development programs; keen understanding of the SaaS business model and its product development lifecycle.

  • Agile domain knowledge to push & pull the right optimization levers whenever needed.

  • Demonstrated domain expertise in synthesizing broad span of data and inputs and distilling into essential priorities and succinct executive action plans.

  • Experience working with engineering teams. Experience in related disciplines of Product Management and/or Engineering desired.

  • Deep appreciation for the Customer mindset. Proven ability to think Customer-first ; successful track record in building strategies and solutions to meet Customer needs.

  • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment consisting of software engineering, infrastructure, product management and business operations.

  • Energetic self-starter passionate about professional integrity and excellence with a positive attitude and contagious enthusiasm.

  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment where you must take on multiple responsibilities and do what it takes to get things done.
