Database Administration

We seek a DBA with proven experiences and skills to work as a member of our leveraged team in support of US based accounts. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to function in a leveraged team, supporting customers, team members, as well as providing rotated always-on support under direction of a team lead and reporting to the team’s DBA Manager.

This full-time, permanent position is located in Guadalajara, MX

Job Functions/Duties

1. Provide Tier 2 Production support of databases that belong to multiple accounts in accordance with Dell Total Quality Management, SLAs and IT best practices.

2. Production always-on support rotation is required.

3. Ongoing and proactive performance tuning of existing and new database applications. Recommend DBMS configuration changes to optimize server performance, implement cache, buffer pool, and configurable memory structure options for DBMS.

4. Work as member of a DBA team responsible for maintaining database stability as well as providing physical support for vendor/user maintained applications.

5. Design, develop, maintain and execute SSIS packages for database automation and cross network connectivity.

6. Provide support to development teams when they have to troubleshoot the entire application stack

7. Assist IT management with administrative policies and procedures related to technical problem resolution and priority management that relates to system support and maintenance.

8. Recommend to IT management changes to database design to improve process throughput and ensure performance as identified above.



Qualifications



Qualifications

Required Skills

· Minimum 4 years of demonstrated proficiency in administering SQLServer Database Systems in a production environment.

· Demonstrated proficiency in the installation and administration of SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.

· Experience in database tuning and project support.

· Experience with Windows scripting.

· Demonstrated time managements and multi-tasking ability.

· Strong ITIL foundation, Continual Service Improvement and Total Quality Management experiences.

· Excellent verbal and written skills.

· Ability to work directly with business stakeholders as well as technical resources.



Desired Skills

· TSQL experience

· Database security skills to design controls and monitoring capabilities for user access.



Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer science related field
