BASIC FUNCTION:



The VP of Business Development is responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing new distribution channels (including; for the ADP Small Business Services (SBS) business. Accountable for establishment of key strategic channels and partnerships, broadly or potentially in assigned verticals, through the full partnership life cycle including; identification, development, negotiation, contract execution, technical enablement, business planning and sales enablement. Will work diligently as an internal networker and executor to ensure the all functions (legal, security, finance, product management, product development and Strategic Partner Relations) are engaged in the success of partner acquisition and the overall success of the partnership and SBS



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Identify, research and develop new distribution channels (both referral and reseller) with potential business partners that expand ADP Employer Services' existing distribution channels and/or current product offerings, to improve market coverage or enter adjacent markets.

  • Develops a persuasive analytical business case for each proposed business development/channel partner initiative.

  • Develops and implements go to market strategies for new channels, and works with channel leader peers on the continuous improvement and further development of existing channels.

  • Serves as the focal point between Employer Services Strategic Alliances group and the ES Business Unit sponsor on any due diligence related to partnership opportunities.

  • Leads negotiations on all terms and final agreements within new distribution partners and channels; including pricing, rules of engagement, sales (unit and dollar) targets, client support ratings, marketing, etc...

  • Partners with Strategic Partner Relations counterpart(s) on the development of any implementation, integration, marketing communications and business plans for new distribution partners and channels.

  • Participates in the development of SBS Business Development forecasting and strategic planning.

  • Designs and executes improvements for process and procedures so that established goals are met.

  • Maintains any CRM records/systems and all associated reporting, activities and progress reports associated with new partner and channel pipeline.




QUALIFICATIONS



1. Education




  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA degree preferred.




2. Experience




  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales, marketing and/or business development; Proven track record and extensive experience in building strategic alliances and partner programs in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.




3. Skills




  • Negotiating - Helps convince target organizations to partner with ADP. Negotiates deal terms.

  • Leadership - Leads internal due diligence efforts. Strong emphasis on matrix management/leadership skills.

  • Strategic Planning - Develops and prioritizes target markets and organizations.

  • Creative Problem Solving - Finds win-win opportunities for ADP and potential partners.

  • Analysis & solution development- Develops persuasive business cases.
