Role Overview


The candidate will join the development team of Foglight domains about Virtualization Monitoring and Application Performance Monitoring. This team will be primarily responsible for building next-generation Virtualization Monitoring and Application Performance Management (APM) solution on top of Foglight. The candidates in this position are expected to have applicable skills on Java, have experience on virtualization infrastructure like VMware, Hyper-V, Openstack and KVM, and are fast learners with strong sense of new technologies.



Foglight Virtualization performance management


Optimize the configuration, performance and utilization of your hypervisors and guest virtual machines, as well as the applications utilizing them. Capitalize on extensive real-time monitoring, capacity planning and reporting capabilities for informed decision making.



Foglight Application performance monitoring



Capture the experience of users interacting with key applications. Pinpoint the root cause of incidents so you can fix problems fast. Improve user satisfaction and ensure the IT environment supports the needs of the organization.






Responsibilities


· Participates in the software development lifecycle, which includes research, new development, modification, security, correction of errors, reuse, re-engineering and maintenance of software products.



· Creates technical documentation of software products/solutions.



· Contributes on idea generation for new software products, or for the next version of an existing product.



· Contributes on designing and developing functional or performance enhancements for existing products, or produces new software products or tools.



Qualifications :


Essential Requirements


· BS Degree, good at OOA/OOD development standards and practices.



· Virtualization Monitoring Developer



o Have development experience in Java.



· APM Developer



o Have development experience in Web Application Development and Java or C/C++.



o Have knowledge in HTTP, Restful, SOAP, JSON, XML etc.



· Comfortable working in Linux environment, and able to write Linux/Unix Shell script.



· Experience of working in a team environment using source control management tools, such as CVS, SVN, or Git etc, knowledgeable of branching and merging strategies.



· Strong ability to quickly perform proof-of-concepts for validating new technology or approach.



· Strong ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, open mind, and demonstrated analytical thinking, adaptability, enthusiasm and motivation.






Preferred


· Experiences in virtualization infrastructure domains, as VMware, Hyper-V, Openstack and KVM, etc.



· Experiences in other script languages such as: PHP, Node.js, Python etc.



· Experiences in Cloud Computing Platforms like Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine, etc.



· Experience in Mobile application development on any platform of iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
