Senior Manager of Software Engineering, Release Architecture Development
As salesforce continues its meteoric growth in providing innovative solutions for our customers, an exciting opportunity has emerged for a proven leader in software engineering to manage our release architecture development (RAD) team. Each day salesforce is rapidly deploying new code to our customers, and the RAD team is developing a comprehensive deployment fabric to support an even greater velocity of change. Providing leadership and vision for the team will be key to success in this role as our business continues to evolve at a breakneck pace. Responsibilities:
- Drive innovation and manage technical development projects within an Agile environment
- Based on your experience with deployment infrastructure, influence the product road map & architecture
- Lead the development of scalable distributed systems
- Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentorship to team members
- Partner with various teams across Salesforce Technology & Products
- Communicate status, risks, and offer mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery of all committed projects to cross-functional teams and high-level management.
- Lead the team in making build/buy/open source decisions
Required Skills/Experience:
- 4+ years experience managing development teams
- Software development experience with a demonstrable track record on technically demanding projects
- Proven leadership of large, fast-paced engineering teams
- Experience managing and supporting complex services that require a deep understanding of application logic and dependencies
- Experience with continuous integration systems and dependency management frameworks
- Ability to establish credibility with brilliant engineers quickly
