Research Associate

Position Summary



LinkedIn Insights team is looking for a Research Associate to provide high quality research support to our strategic corporate clients, internal marketing and sales teams.

This full-time role will support the day-to-day responsibilities of our research operations.The projects will generally entail targeting and sampling the right audiences in the LinkedIn database for market research, employer branding and advertising studies. Other tasks include setting up mailings using various in-house and third-party tools; analyzing of survey results; creating insight reports in power point and managing client relationships. Qualified individuals will have a solid experience in managing complex projects, interpreting data, and working with databases.

Essential duties/Responsibilities:


  • Draw on SQL expertise and a deep understanding of LinkedIn’s data warehouse to assess the feasibility of potential surveys.

  • Execute multiple surveys of LinkedIn members each month, including pulling targeted sample, ensuring that the questionnaire is programmed correctly, inviting members to participate, managing quotas, and preparing the final data.

  • Proactively communicate progress, milestones and challenges to the survey stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Research Consultants to analyze survey results and create the foundation of reports that transform data into powerful insights.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of key research skills (e.g., questionnaire design, sampling, etc.).

  • Actively participate in team-wide Ops initiatives and help train new Research Associates.

  • Regularly identify and implement improvements that increase the efficiency of our survey operations and project management.

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and maintain necessary controls and procedures to insure data accuracy, business functionality and compliance with privacy and security policies.


Desired Skills & Experience


  • Undergraduate degree from top tier university. Clear track record of academic and professional excellence in analytical fields of work and study.

  • 1+ years of experience in market research or analytical role.

  • Experience with SQL or demonstrated ability to master similar database management programs

  • Comfort with analytical and data analysis tools including Excel required.

  • Experience with statistics, research techniques, and experimental designs desired

  • Passionate about learning new tools and processes

  • Strong client/customer service, project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Highly motivated with a “can do” attitude and the ability to effectively operate and make informed decisions quickly working in a complex, fast-paced environment

  • Enjoy working independently and in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and best practice across the company.
