Behind every advertising campaign at Google are systems to make it run. Behind every system is the Ad Serving Operations team to make sure that happens flawlessly. As a member of the team, you are a technical consultant with the dual role of being both client-facing and growing systems from the back-end. An expert in our tools and operations, you provide support, answer field inquiries and troubleshoot client issues. Beyond client-facing issues, your expertise also gives you the insight to recommend product and system improvements to our engineering teams. Your interactions on both sides ensure that when clients advertise with Google, their back-end systems never miss a beat.
As a Small-Medium Business (SMB) Services Advertising Online Specialist, you will help the SMB team better serve Google's worldwide user base for our AdWords product. This fast-paced sales and support team quickly identifies and resolves customer concerns and contributes to the growth of our programs. Your objective is to continue to hone your account management and relationship-building skills, supporting some of Google's advertisers and agencies by providing the best possible service via phone, email or chat. Among your many attributes, you are comfortable with a rapidly changing environment and you have a strong desire to learn. You also bring experience in customer service, sales, marketing or consulting. You join the team that works on Google's Ad Operations, Technical Services/Account Management, and Online Help Center/Communities projects. You will serve as the primary support contact for Japan advertisers in the small-medium business market. As one of our Agents, you will resolve questions and troubleshoot an array of issues related to billing, account setup, campaign performance, targeting, analytics and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide presenting and educational engagements with end-client customers across multiple, non face-to-face channels such as phone, email, live chat or video. Support impact for Google SMB Japan as part of these efforts.
- Provide outstanding customer service and sales support to Google's advertisers, publishers and users, and manage customer inquiries by phone, email, and/or live chat.
- Implement creative ways to improve our client relationships and increase business by promoting other Google products, mostly around AdWords products today, but also will include expanding product portfolios that include Google Shopping/Merchant Center, Local/Places, etc.
- Respond to advertisers' inquires in a prompt, clear and helpful manner, and manage the work flow to meet and exceed defined service level agreements.
- Write clear and helpful content to address common questions and issues. Engage with product and engineering teams on issue prioritization and road map. Partner with finance, marketing and sales on role definition and process enhancement. Collaborate with Specialists, Engineers and Product team members on new feature development.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program with expected graduation in 2014.
- Business level communication in Japanese and English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in customer support, account management (direct and/or offline), marketing (product direct and/or offline), or consulting.
- Experience or strong interest in online advertising, analytics and social media.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to see both detail and big picture issues.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. Exceptional resourcefulness in mining available knowledge bases to find answers and solutions.
