Oracle’s MICROS Managed Cloud & SaaS Services is currently seeking industry top talent to help support Oracle’s MICROS business transformation from an on-Premise solution to a globally distributed, cloud based hosted solution. As a Systems Engineer on the Operations Engineering team, you will be part of a high performing team focused on health and performance of ongoing operations for our hosted customer base worldwide focused on the Hospitality & Retail vertical.

Responsibilities:

• Administer/configure/support systems in globally hosted client/server environments in accordance to Oracle policies, procedures, standards, as well as customer requirements
• Provide technical support in the design, implementation, and support of Oracle’s MICROS global install of systems
• Develop, document and enforce systems policies and procedures
• Work and manage tactical, planned and enterprise project related activities
• Provide and receive input as a member of the systems team
• Perform problem isolation, definition, resolution and follow-up for customer problems
• Identify and recommend best practices and opportunities for continuous improvement to the systems team and fmanagement
• Handle escalated tickets from the Operations Center
• Own problems to completion
• Handle service request tickets from the Oracle’s MICROS ticketing system
• Interface with vendor support services to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
• Interface with other Oracle’s MICROS technology teams as a systems liaison to provide assistance as needed
• Ability to work with other team members that are geographically dispersed
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Other duties may be assigned

 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 5 years of Windows or Linux Systems Engineering experience with strong IIS or Apache background or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of security experience with configuration, installation, maintenance and support
• Experience with hardware load balancing
• Knowledge and use of Active Directory domains in a multi-domain and multi-forest environment
• Knowledge and use of Anti-virus technologies from multiple vendors
• Knowledge and use of SAN disks from multiple vendors
• Knowledge and experience supporting server hardware from multiple vendors
• Knowledge and understanding of datacenter network concepts
• Strong verbal, communication and written skills
• Travel may be required
• Significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities listed
