Job Responsibilities:

The Director of IT Collaboration Technology manages (designs, develops, and maintains) the overall collaboration architecture, standards and roadmap to assure effective integration of voice, on-line meeting technology (ie..Web Ex, Lync , Go-To-Meeting,etc..) instant messaging, desktop sharing, video, and email and data systems the NC enterprise business. The Dir ITCT collaborates with Business Analysts and Business Architects to:
- Understand the enterprise business process
- Determine the collaboration requirements of the business functions
- Understand existing system and architectures
- Design collaboration systems in the context of the overall enterprise architecture
The Dir IT CT will manage a group of technology professionals who have deep domain knowledge in this field. This role will directly manage the global VOIP, Exchange, Video, and Lync/Jabber teams team for Global Hosting. This role will have provide service and support to the IT Services team Globally and tech direction from the office of the CIO.
This position is responsible for overseeing technology collaboration technology that services the associate base.
Service Management:
- Definition and management of the Product portfolio and roadmap.
- Responsible for product strategy and ensuring business needs are satisfied.
- SLA & Demand Management
Product Engineering:
- Develops standards, configuration and technical product solutions.
- Product Certification
- Tier 4 Support
Design Engineering:
- Develops Detailed Design for implementation of technical work.
- Responsible for product integration (QA) testing.
- Defines implementation and testing procedures.
- Tier 3 support.
Implementation Engineering:
- Implement production changes following the Detailed Design
- Responsible for the overall build and deployment work on the project.
- Create the Run Book and/or Implementation Guide for Operations.
- Conduct post-implementation testing.
This role also includes IT leadership across the NC Enterprise in the planning and support of business systems and information technologies that support the NC Strategic Business Plan for collaboration capabilities.
This position also has the responsibility of ensuring NC collaboration technology is secure and not vulnerable to external and/or un-authorized access . The position has direct impact on the ability of all NC associates and clients to process their work. The nature of the business needs a high performance/highly available collaboration suite that is supporting one of the largest SAAS businesses in the world.
Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Planning and Development: Primary role is to develop strategic focus for IT organization in support of business goals. Establish Collaboration Strategy function as a business enabler aligning people, process and tools to meet business needs. This position defines the direction, objectives and strategies for Collaboration services for all internal facing systems across the NC Enterprise; determines design and architecture of collaboration environments; delineates the solutions to be offered by the function to development and infrastructure teams; and develops the service framework needed to provide the environments efficiently, effectively and at acceptable return on investment levels.
- Oversees the identification and evaluation of future technology needs; directs the identification of and research into new and emerging technologies; develops and recommends the adoption of new technologies to provide NC with the information needed to lead the Company into the future and attain its short- and long-term business goals.
- Considers the future business direction of the NC Business Units and IT organization in order to identify and evaluate the information technology needs of customer departments; creates advisory groups and steering committees as appropriate to ensure that the IT department understands and responds to customer needs; advises and counsels senior managers of the NC IT organization as well as BU leaders on issues and implications that IT may contribute to and/or be affected by to encourage increasing efficiencies of operation.
- Security / Business Continuity : Ensure appropriate people, process and tools are in place to support and maintain the integrity of the NC Enterprise Disaster Recovery program. Establish a network solution ensuring critical systems and processes can function in the case of a catastrophic event. Ensure appropriate people, process, tools, and solutions are in place to ensure NC's associate and client sensitive data are not susceptible to outside/un-authorized access.
- Monthly Reporting and Business Analysis: Develop and report on Key Performance Measures for the portfolio. Establish timely and accurate reporting metrics for communication to clients on critical metrics. Capture and report on value organization brings to the clients and NC's business. Proactively identify opportunities and development of contingency plans to ensure critical business objectives are achieved.
- Special Projects / Ad-hoc Analysis: Conducts special projects and assignments as required. Examples include process re-engineering initiatives, ISO certifications etc. ISO 9001 & 27001: Review Global Hosting Engineering & Data Processing Group Vision statement, and the Quality and Security Policy periodically, and understand Group's commitment to excellent client service, security, and continual improvement and conform to these policies and Group principles at all times.
- Recruit, train, develop, discipline and dismiss staff as required within budget and legal constraints and at all times consistent with good employment practices and Company policies. Ensure all personnel have current job descriptions.
- Client Satisfaction and Support - Exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers by consistently meeting or exceeding mutually agreed levels of service, including continuous improvement price/performance.
Experience, Skills, Academic:
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent in education and experience), Emphasis on Engineering or computer science.
- Experience in all aspects of global networks and advanced information technologies; working knowledge of telecommunications and advanced technology concepts and data network management technology and tools,, diagnostic tools, across the full range of computing platforms; demonstrating the ability to provide high-quality support to all organizations; understanding the positive impact of standards, guidelines, and consistent practices on the quality and productivity of an information systems organization.
- 5+ years of management; 5+ years of experience managing a large technology infrastructure environment
- Technologies: Collaboration Tools, Email Technology, VOIP, Advanced Video Conferencing, Networks, Firewalls and other security technologies, Media Streaming, WAN Optimization - Caching, Compression
