Software Engineer in Test

As a Software Engineer in Test (SET), your mission is to build the tools and infrastructure to increase our developers' efficiency. You play a crucial part in Google’s success by ensuring that our code is thoroughly tested to the highest standards. In doing so, you help us secure our business future by creating the next generation of tools and frameworks that make our users and developers more productive.



With your technical expertise and judgement, you are an integrated part of the software development team and define, document, analyze, perform, and automate tests for products. You identify functional problems and come up with creative resolutions.



Responsibilities

• Own and deliver innovative solutions for large scale automated testing strategies, quality assurance, and data analysis


• Define test strategies, analyze results and validate functionality


• Provide framework and test case documentation and training


• Work in tandem with other engineers to build advanced automated frameworks to deliver and exercise our applications.

  Minimum qualifications
  


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.


• 4 years of work experience in software development and/or test automation or related field.


• 3 years of experience developing test automation in C++/Java/Python/Objective C.


• Development management or testing team leadership experience.

  Preferred qualifications
  


• Experience with most of the following: automated test development, UNIX/Linux, device drivers, file systems, firmware and x86 architectures.


• Have deep knowledge in testing methods and test automation techniques.


• Deep knowledge of internet technologies.


• Excellent coding skill in C, C++, Java or Python.
