Dell Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is a fast growing segment of Dell Business Innovation Services and part of the Dell Services organization. The Technical Sales Specialist role is an exciting and critical role that straddles the Dell sales makers, external customers/prospects as well as the Dell BI&A practice and delivery stakeholders. The right candidate will be a confident, self-starter working alongside the sakes makers who have named accounts within the BIA domain. This is a sales role requiring the right blend of technical depth and selling experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Works as a Sales Specialist alongside Sales Executives, Client Executives and Consultants architecting BIA solutions during the presales phase of a deal to close
- Supports the sales team with customer presentations and activities, traveling as needed, requiring advanced interpersonal, communication, and technical skills
- Interacts with key individuals at various levels within an organization including client managers/account executives, customer leaders, team leads, project managers, etc.
- Performance is typically measured by deliverables and/or solutions and successfully supporting the sales cycle and driving to pipeline/order booking targets
- Will be responsible for architecting and setting up complex projects usually involving multiple BIA products or multiple platforms
- Analyzes customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing infrastructure and applies principles, concepts and techniques of skills in developing solutions and strategies
- Manage pipeline of opportunities
Qualifications Requirements
- Must have 5 to 10+ years of Business Intelligence and Analytics experience
- Must have experience in Healthcare, specifically area of payer and/or provider
- Strong BI solutions sales/presales experience and ability to propose solid solutions to meet customer requirements
- Must be able to determine scope, duration, resources required prior to beginning a project
- Must have experience communicating with external clients including face-to-face interaction
- Strong ability to take a solution to close
- Must understand core BIA and data warehouse concepts
- Must have deep technical experience in integration of multiple BIA systems to produce complex analytical reports
- Must have a solid technical understanding in one or more of the following technologies: Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, Data Warehousing and how the independent systems work together and should be architected
- Must have well-developed system problem solving skills and experience resolving complex business problems
- Must be able to mentor and guide more junior resources and serve as a key authority within the BI technology space
- 5+ years experience with full life cycle data warehouse/analytics projects
- Implementations working with the mainstream BIA, ETL and DW tools
- Be able to understand BIA, data modeling, ETL & Data Integration, and reporting tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with architecture and configuration of modern BIA components (SAP, MSFT, etc.)
Preferences
- Experience from a Consulting organization
- Certification(s) (TDWI, PMP, etc.)
