Responsibilities
- Work closely with Regional Ethics & Compliance Counsel EMEA to identify risks and opportunities throughout the region, and collaboratively address both.
- Provide E&C-related legal advice on topics such as anti-bribery, conflicts of interest, government procurement, antitrust, privacy, data protection, and use of company assets in relation to country-specific business and public policy programs.
- Advise on inquiries regarding Google’s Code of Conduct and Ethics & Compliance Policies/Guidelines.
- Lead and/or assist in investigations into employee-related misconduct.
- Provide routine training on Ethics & Compliance topics.
Minimum qualifications
- Legal degree.
- Licensed to practice in their jurisdiction, and have practiced in a related subject area.
- Experience regarding compliance with anti-bribery laws, especially the US FCPA and the UK Bribery Act.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.
Preferred qualifications
- A combination of law firm (or public) litigation experience, and in-house ethics and compliance experience.
- Extensive personal and/or professional experience with the region’s customs and practices.
- Be an effective problem solver
- Excellent communication skills, and a proven history of cross-disciplinary collaboration.
