Senior UX Researcher Responsibilities:
Study and document findings on how users react to new technologies and features from a humanistic perspective (ie. privacy, engagement, sentiment, ownership
Conduct analysis ADP applications across domains (web and mobile) to determine appropriate user behaviors. Conduct user social and behavioral research activities such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews for complex products, services, web and mobile applications.
Conduct research supporting activities such as planning, recruiting, analysis of usability activity results and deliver reports and presentations on time and with the highest quality. Conduct investigations and evaluate User Experience Research trends in the industry and communicate implementation recommendations to enhance the UX processes by incorporating new ideas, and recommending new methodologies and tools.
Work in multidisciplinary environments in a collaborative fashion throughout the software development lifecycle of the application.
Supporting the journey of designing systems that demonstrate traits of 'wisdom' via conversation and storytelling
Studying social networks and technology-based communities and their impact on software design
Studying the humanistic responses to aspects of Privacy and Ownership of data
Using anthropology to better understand and optimize our use of technology
Studying the practice and experience of digital technologies in comparative cultural context
Analyzing social and cultural frameworks that produce new digital artifacts and into which they emerge
Using traditional techniques of anthropology, such as ethnography, participant observation, and acknowledgement of reflexivity, to inform designers in order to adapt and improve technology
Understanding of social norms and how they affect user behaviors
Planning and developing segments of projects with unique or controversial problems that have an important effect on personal, organizational or sociological/humanistic aspects, which involves exploration of subject areas, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, as well as development of novel concepts and approaches to the problems
Qualifications:· Four-year college degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Human Factors, Usability Engineering, User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology or related discipline (PHD in Psychology, Anthropology, Industrial Psychology preferred)
3+ years of experience in social or psychological research including a strong background in research specific to human interaction with technology.
