Accountable for delivery
- If there is a problem with the ability to deliver a feature they own, it’s their neck on the line
- Lead project delivery through the entire lifecycle
- Create delivery strategy for capability set / project aligned to sprint calendar
- Scrum master (and all that role does)
- Facilitate and deliver demos of completed features
- Writes functional/technical requirements and is accountable for making sure they are delivered to and accepted by the dev team
- Does not mean functional requirements can’t be written by product owners, business partners or “team” members
- Owns project plan, program delivery plan (not roadmap) and manages the risk matrix
- Create detailed technical project plan including resourcing, timelines, test plan, technical deployment plan
- Accountable for all “interlocks” and the delivery of ALL dependencies (not just first level) that exist outside of their feature team
- Ideally we evolve to a point where feature teams have 100% of their work within the feature team
- Collaboration with dependent teams to manage their dependencies
- Manage Releases (more of the program manager level, e.g. Kathy Boles) – may change with smaller releases and more Agile
- Coordinates SIT entry for all applications
- Manages defect counts
- Release level communications
- Coordinates activities across multiple feature teams
- Release level reporting
- CRQ’s
- DR testing
- Work closely with internal and external Architecture teams (IT EA team, eDell Architecture team, etc…) to understand strategic technical roadmap and be able to translate to tactical project/capability delivery
- Work with PUMs / PdMs to create detailed roadmaps, participate in roadmap review, create delivery summary presentations and release summary presentations
- Propose new business cases
- Be able to articulate project goals to all stakeholders
- Collaborate with PUMs for resource assignments
- Works closely with test resources to review & approve test strategy and ensure quality control is being implemented
- Provide executive status reporting explaining progress using appropriate metrics such as burn down charts
- Agree change management and control procedures with PdM and ensure scope changes are effectively managed
- Propose process improvements
