Role Overview (CUSTOMIZED FOR SPECIFIC ORGANIZATION)

This position allows Network professionals to develop their Skills on the Network Security area.



Role Responsibilities (high level summary of key duties)

- This position will involve daily maintenance and operations of the leveraged firewall service infrastructure. You will be working primarily with Cisco, Checkpoint, and Juniper firewall products in order to help design, confirm, determine and/or troubleshoot firewall traffic flows. Network Security Services include daily maintenance and operations of multiple customers’ firewall and network security infrastructure. The successful candidate will be required to troubleshoot firewall traffic flows, as well as maintain accurate documentation of firewall and network security support activities and processes. The candidate will also be required to work independently and remotely when troubleshooting and must also have the ability to solve problems with minimal client input and ability to escalate when solution is not readily apparent.



Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- 2 + years of network troubleshooting experience and at least 1 years firewall administration and design experience

- At least one certification from Cisco, Checkpoint or Juniper (CCSA, CCNA, JNCIA, JNCIS, etc)

- Excellent customer service and communication skills are required

- This person must have good time management skills to properly manage operations duties and other task that will assist in the optimization of the firewall team



Desired Skills

- Experience with Provider-1 is a plus

- Experience with Cisco routers and switches is a plus Cisco PIX 6.x or later is ideal

- Experience with Checkpoint version R55 or higher on Linux or Unix based platforms

- Check Point Security Administrator (CCSA) or Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE)

- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) or Equivalent Industry Proficiency is a plus

- Knowledge of Juniper Firewall/VPN products and ScreenOS software



Education

- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

- At least 2 recognized networking or security certifications
