Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google's key clients and understand how our range of product offerings can grow their business. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.
The Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) Mid-Market Sales team is a critical growth engine for the highest spending clients in SMB. Through long-term relationship development, we are dedicated to understanding the business goals and dreams of this premier segment and providing the best Google advertising solutions to drive business success. We are responsible for growing advertising business by educating and consulting with clients directly.
To our customers, you are the face of Google. You listen to your customers’ needs, understand the details of individual campaigns and explore and uncover business opportunities for your customers. Working with your customer, you set the vision and the strategy for how their products and services reach thousands or millions of users. You work with a highly engaged team and bring creativity to grow and transform the business.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of SMB businesses by thoroughly understanding growth drivers, identifying opportunity for growth, managing risks and creating multi-quarter plans for achievement. Identify key client stakeholders (often Director or C-level), and consult with customers proactively on calls and in person to drive annual digital marketing discussions and budgets.
- Meet or exceed assigned goals consistently, while prioritizing and delivering outstanding customer experience to Google's advertisers.
- Utilize data and analytical expertise to drive suggestions through Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for top client partners. Implement creative ways to improve our direct client relationships, tailor and share performance-enhancing suggestions, and promote other Google products.
- Coach peers in the organization proactively to create skill lift that drives client growth and contributes to overall team success. Partner with management to define program opportunities and challenges and drive change where needed.
- Share and collaborate with Specialists, Engineers, and Product team members on new feature development. Lead innovative pilots to test solutions to complex business problems and/or roll out go to market strategies for new products.
Minimum qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience in advertising sales, marketing, consulting, media and/or working with advertising agencies.
Preferred qualifications
- Proven track record in advertising sales and media account management.
- Ability to leverage your business acumen to strategically assess and help solve client needs.
- Proven track record in high productivity, consistently exceeding performance expectations and meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at a time while paying attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
