We are seeking a talented Business Analyst to help us better capture, organize, report, and utilize data generated by our IT department. This person will be responsible for data capture, analysis, and reporting to help improve understanding of key business and support metrics. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, work in a fast paced, team-driven environment, and have the ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical staff.



Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding business goals and designing reports and capturing appropriate data/metrics to illustrate operational trends and results to management. He/she will be directly involved in determining what data to capture, creating reports, designing dashboards, and communicating information to users at all levels of the company. This role may make recommendations and/or create tools and processes to improve data capture, storage, and analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities and/or requirements include:

  • Strong knowledge of data analysis and reporting

  • Ability to quickly learn business processes and create/implement a supporting data capture plan

  • Creation of reports in Salesforce.com internal support ticketing system

  • Ability to combine reports and data from multiple sources into a single document

  • Creation of visually striking and clear reports, dashboards, infographics, etc

  • Presentation of reports and dashboards to various levels of management

  • Creation of dashboard reports

  • Demonstrated ability quickly adapt to changing business requirements

  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization

  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Contribute to the department’s knowledge base through research, projects, and documentation

  • Identify and recommend efficiency and workflow improvements to management

  • Work independently on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.




Required Skills/Experience:


  • Outgoing person who enjoys helping people and working in a team environment.

  • Strong research and problem solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently under general direction.

  • Current knowledge of PC or Mac and relevant data analysis and reporting software packages.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.




Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with the Salesforce.com application including dashboards and reporting tools in a business or academic environment.

  • BS, MS, or PhD degree (or undergrad/graduate student working toward degree) with concentration in Business, MIS, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering or related field



  • Basic understanding of business processes (one or more of IT, marketing, sales, finance, support)
