Senior Technical Writer

As a technical writer on the Infrastructure Security team, you will serve the larger Infrastructure Organization by creating, updating, and delivering internal technical documentation about our infrastructure security. Working with technology leaders and teams, you will manage a portfolio of diverse writing projects, such as cloud security service delivery architecture descriptions and diagrams, hardware configuration and diagrams, compliance documentation, procedural documentation for internal tools, systems security configurations, network security configurations, and more. You have the right mix of technical knowledge, technical writing skills, Web skills, and creativity to deliver this documentation in the format best suited for various audiences. You have strong project management skills, excellent communications skills, and the tenacity, humor, and people skills to work with and obtain information from a wide variety of Technology team members.
Responsibilities: Own, create, and maintain documentation for the salesforce Infrastructure Security team.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 8+ years of experience writing highly technical documentation for complex applications, operating systems, hardware, software, and processes
- Working knowledge of networks, servers, storage systems, and other hardware
- Ability to own complex documentation projects with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines with multiple deliverables
- Great people and communication skills
- Proven ability to obtain information from multiple SMEs with many demands on their time
- Strong visualization skills and experience with various software to create images and diagrams of complex systems
- Focus on quality and details
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Excellent problem solver
- Strong team player
- Customer advocate
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or communications field
Desired Experience/Skills:
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
- Knowledge of DITA
- Experience documenting security, cloud infrastructure, big data, or enterprise technology environments
- Track record of improving existing styles and processes
- Experience delivering and managing collaborative documentation
- Ability to work with management to establish goals and priorities
