LinkedIn is looking for a Staff level Technical Program Manager to work within program management in LinkedIn's Monetization Software Engineering team. The right candidate will have demonstrated solid leadership in leading teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes.
This candidate is expected to perform using best software engineering management practices for initiating, planning, and executing intermediate-to-large scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills, and can execute and deliver successfully in situations where authority is not a given. Interaction and leadership across functional lines is essential.
At this level of professional development, the candidate will be able to concisely articulate all of the interactions and factors that contribute to the final outcome.
Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery in all areas of large cross-functional initiatives
- Prepare and present program and project status to key stakeholders at regular intervals
- Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure success
- Collate and articulate shared understanding of direction and objectives into multiple domains
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate risk exposure at all levels
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement at multiple levels of the organization
- Mentor best methods and practices of traditional and modern program management
- Lead efforts to resolve key project conflicts and establish appropriate resolution paths
- Ensure accountability of commitments
- Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, sustainability, innovation and learning
- Promote value-driven delivery, continuous learning, and improvements in modern program management practices
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of full time program management experience within an engineering or technical department, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience managing large scale web-based programs
- B.S./B.A. in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong practical and advanced theoretical understanding of managing the full life-cycle of large-scale modern production software programs and projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent major projects
- Proven leadership skills in highly volatile cross-functional and cross-organizational environments
- Strong experience with modern software engineering practices and good familiarity with coding tools and techniques
- Mastery of core Agile methods and practices (Scrum, and/or Kanban)
- Fluid ability to traverse both vertically and horizontally in a large organization
- Solid demonstration of trade-off management in achieving tactical to strategic objectives
- High proficiency in planning, collaboration, communication, and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to successfully influence others to best outcomes without having authority
- Advanced technical or business degree
