The analyst corrosion control coordinates compliance workload for Nicor gas. The incumbent will be responsible for planning annual programs and allocating resources to maintain corrosion regulatory compliance for items including annual reads, bond checks, rectifier checks, and corrosion control remediation.
Functional Expertise:
- Monitors and manages corrosion control activities workload (annual reads, bi-monthly bonds, rectifiers and down controls) to meet regulatory requirements.
- Schedules work for corrosion field technicians in Advantex
- Demonstrates understanding of corrosion control regulatory compliance requirements.
- Applies for permits needed to perform corrosion control work
- Documents processes utilized in performing work to ensure repeatability and consistency
Business Acumen:
- Monitors program completion progress and prepares tracking reports.
- Prepares, updates, and distributes reports program status reports. Monitors status of pending work, reads, troubleshooting status, and as-built completions.
- Reviews and monitors completion information from the field for quality and accuracy.
- Monitors annual reads by Meter Reading and ensures that records are properly updated.
- Assist supervisors to ensure that work is completed in a cost effective manner.
- Prepares monthly status updates for department goals and KPI'sRecommends and assists with implementation of process improvements for the Corrosion Activities Department.
- Assists manager to with developing and monitoring budget
- Reviews and analyzes data to identify gaps / deficiencies and reports accordingly
- Monitors data integrity
- Integrates and analyzes data to evaluate for larger trends or patterns within the data
Engagement:
- Coordinates and communicates with Resource Management, Field Operations, Meter Reading, System Operations, Utility Business Systems (UBS), Information Technology (IT), and others.
- Participates in regulatory audits
Driving Results:
- Ensures that corrosion control work is completed by required compliance dates
- Makes resource allocation decisions for the Corrosion Department. (e.g. Contractor vs. company, moving tech to other areas, overtime work. etc)
Education, Certifications/Licenses:
Required:
- High School Diploma
Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree
Related Work Experience:
Required:
- 3+ years progressive experience with data integration, analysis, querying, and reporting
Preferred:

- Proficiency with Advantex, CC&B, CORCON, Peoplesoft, Comshare, and/or GIS.
- Adept at managing to budgets and resource allocation planning.

- The incumbent works in an office environment.
