About the Position
Let's break down the job title: You should know what the "interaction designer" part means so moving right along...senior level means you're experienced, you know your stuff, and we can count on you to solve complex design problems and mentor other designers. As a Senior Interaction Designer in the User Experience Design Studio (UXDS), you'll be creating concepts and designs for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud's suite of products (email, social, mobile, marketing automation, etc.)-we are working on some cutting edge stuff! Your designs will be implemented in our products and used by thousands of marketers worldwide...plus, there's a really good chance your work will be shown on the main stage of our annual Connections conference, so be prepared to feel like a superstar.
About the Team
The User Experience Design Studio is a team of over 60 super-talented and hard-working researchers, interaction designers, visual designers, and front-end engineers who collaborate closely to bring Salesforce Marketing Cloud products to life. The UXDS leadership team values work-life balance and employee happiness.
Responsibilities
A day in your life as a Senior Interaction Designer will include working with other UXers and project team members doing things like:
•Wearing your user-centered design hat as you tackle design problems
•Creating annotated wireframes like nobody's business (low fidelity to high fidelity and everything in between)
•Iterating wireframes faster than the speed of light (ok, not that fast but you need to be quick)
•Mapping out interaction flows
•Participating in product research and analysis
•Helping to define design patterns that can be used across the entire product ecosystem
Requirements
•An understanding of user experience, user research, and interaction design
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HCI, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or related field
•4+ years of direct experience in Interaction Design (design for enterprise SaaS experiences is a big plus)
•Expert-level knowledge of wireframing tools (e.g., Illustrator, Axure, Balsamiq, etc.)
•Exceptional problem solving and communication skills that demonstrate you know how to 1) understand user needs, 2) translate those needs into elegant and intuitive experiences, 3) justify design choices and adjust decisions based on feedback, and 4) understand complex business problems and technical requirements
•Know the rules of good interaction design and know when to break them
•Technical acumen with web technologies - HTML, CSS, and browser capabilities across platforms
•Portfolio of work samples required, but if you're applying for this position, you already knew that
