Software Engineer Director

Taiwan, TW - Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Information Technology and Services

Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of Client BIOS & Drivers, including the UEFI, EC firmware, BIOS and On board driver development and qualification for Notebook, DT, AIO, Tablets. Manages all activities necessary to take a product from concept to production including front-end architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing, debug validation and field/factory ramp support. Ensures BIOS & Driver meets the requirements for schedule, feature set, functionality, cost, continuity of supply, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance and industry standards of compliance.



• Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.

• Manages the hiring, staffing and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce.

• Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.

• Continually reassesses resource plans based on changing business conditions.

• Leads the communication with all appropriate extended teams and ensures they are informed and in agreement with all activities needed for the product/program/project/solution to succeed.

• Participates in discussions around offer evolution and development.

• Responsible for the leadership and management of project execution.

• Leads process improvement initiatives in addition to managing day to day project execution.

• Stays informed and knowledgeable of current and future technology/engineering trends within area of responsibility.

• Analyzes and addresses gaps in go-to-market technical collateral.



Qualifications



· Expert proficiency in reading and understanding specifications, data sheets and other technical documents.

· Expert ability to persuade others to a common goal.

· Expert ability to write and analyze requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, tech plans and documentation.

· Expert knowledge of UEFI/Legacy BIOS, EC and Device Driver

· Expert understanding of PC technologies (x86, Windows, Manageability, Security, etc), vendor products and competitor's offerings.

· Expert ability to identify potential product weakness, and be able to provide design guidance and recommendations for improvements to subsequent redesigns.

· 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

· 8+ years leadership experience.
