Design at RelateIQ is a core part of achieving our mission to power the world's professional relationships with products people love. Our product development process is much like a startup, with agile teams, daily releases, and a short cycle of ideation to shipping. You'll see your ideas come to life quickly. We aim to delight our users with clear, simple, and elegant solutions to relationship management challenges. Core Responsibilities
The scope of this position will evolve continuously, so comfort with ambiguity is required. Below is a partial representation of what may be included in a Product Designer's typical week:
- Advocate for the user by identifying opportunities to improve product functionality and interactions and by evangelizing user-centered design within the company
- Define the user experience of key product areas in the RelateIQ web application and native mobile applications
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and other Designers in order to achieve a shared product vision and to balance business and user goals with technical feasibility
- Conduct user research with existing customers to identify pain points and validate design decisions
- Participate in internal design critiques to iterate on and improve design directions
Required Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of experience working as a Product Designer in-house, at an agency, or in an equivalent full-time role
- Well-versed in executing a user-centered design process and deep knowledge of interaction design best practices and patterns
- Specialization in one or more of the following Design areas: Visual Design, Interaction Design, Prototyping, Usability, User Research, or some combination thereof
- Direct experience collaborating with a product team, as well as with fellow designers, from idea conception through implementation
- Practical knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Axure RP, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, or others.
Beneficial Experiences
- Previous experience with, or demonstrated passion for, a fast-paced product development environment
- Knowledge of SaSS and/or enterprise products
- Experience designing responsive websites and native mobile applications
