Responsibilities

The Web Development team at Salesforce is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced software development manger to lead a team that powers the technology behind our global marketing websites. You will work directly with marketing to create technical solutions that will provide the engine for our marketing organization to drive innovation on our websites. This position is inside the IT organization where test-driven development and related disciplines are our life blood. We use Agile/Scrum methodologies throughout the organization, so experience working in that environment is a big plus.
This position will work very closely with Marketing to plan and execute a large variety of technical projects. You will bring to the table the ability to deeply understand business drivers and process, preferably through previous experience working on large scale applications and Websites. You will be responsible for continual improvement of your scrum team. You will work closely with each of your staff members to assess and improve their skills, and develop a career path for them. You will be the public face for many cross-department initiatives so your communication skills must be excellent.
Required Skills/Experience
- 4-6+ years managing technical staff
- 6+ years experience working on web applications or Websites
- 4+ years of experience programming with Java, or demonstrate fundamental understanding of Java concepts
- Strong understanding of MVC concepts
- Strong understanding of object oriented development design
- Demonstrated thought leadership around cutting edge technologies - social, mobile
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills/Experience
- Experience with enterprise content management systems
- Experience with marketing automation systems
- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
- Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent. Masters Degree is preferred.
