Assistant Financial Controller

Role Objectives:
•Stakeholder management - ensure senior leads and key business partners are provided with required financial, control and business information which will support decision making
•Become involved in strategic business discussions relating to rchitecture, operating model and new products
•Review and advise on impact of new regulatory changes
•Responsible for monthend close activities as part of the Fixed Income and FX business line
•Monitor and control accuracy and completeness of underlying data used in the Financial Statements to mitigate operational & reputational risk
•Process re-engineering – continually questioning processes in an ever changing environment & striving for best of breed
Key Stakeholders:
Financial Reporting/ Finance Director Managers/ Front Office/ Business Management/ GTO
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Integrity Control Function
•Primary faceoff to external and internal auditors/ inspection
•Preparation of critical reports to external regulators (e.g. BOJ, FSA)
•Overall management of DKS Financial Control/ TP team for monthend/ transfer pricing issues
•Review of accounts with FSI commentary to Business and FDM
•Involvement in New Product Approval (NPA)
•Exception management and escalation of issues to senior management
•Completion of Accounting Disclosure forms as required for Fixed Income and FX businesses
•Completion of complex accounting disclosures and HGB disclosures/delta’s
•Review of monthend packs which will be used for control purposes
Responsible for all Pnl and Balance sheet activities
•Drive resolution of MAFA breaks through investigated with both onshore and offshore teams
•Ensure UBR and profit centre closure changes are implemented correctly
•Balance Sheet substantiation for all Fixed Income and FX related accounts
•FX exposures management from both Management and Financial accounting perspectives
•Review of ledger during and after close
•Assist in issue resolution and training for offshore support staff
•Ensure all Regulatory and Head Office reporting is completed per required deadlines
•Ensure TP accruals and settlement are done accurately and in a timely manner
