As an Enterprise SMB Sales Operations Business Analyst, you will be working with multiple stakeholders across Google to define and deliver insightful metrics, analyze data, and forecast sales. The principal goal of your analyses will be to drive better business decisions which increase market penetration for the Small and Medium-sized/Educational sector (SMB/EDU) business. You will be responsible for translating data into meaningful interpretations and recommendations, and, where relevant, implement process improvements. The metrics and analyses you develop will serve as a key input in strategic planning and decision-making. You will work collaboratively across Enterprise (e.g. with sales, operations, strategy, marketing, finance) as well as with teams outside of Enterprise such as the Product/Engineering and Business Intelligence teams.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, Operations and Marketing stakeholders to prioritize analysis activities and reporting requirements to support growth. Lead analysis underpinning strategy setting and new product introduction to drive and scale the SMB/EDU business.
- Solve how specific metrics need to be generated and, when required, work with the Enterprise Systems team to implement solutions (e.g. data gathering, gap analysis, work on submitted feature request or business requirement documents, participate in problem solving workshops, file bugs etc.).
- Pull and model data in order to create quantitative models including forecast, operational, financial, and statistical models of business trends and, where relevant, implement process improvements. Develop resulting key metrics and either publish via Executive metrics dashboard or share ad-hoc analysis (often using slides) with stakeholders. Drive ongoing data cleansing/data improvement tasks.
- Own critical processes that are central to the delivery of accurate metrics (e.g. maintenance of sales hierarchies). Develop BI - DW and Reporting solutions to address the growing business reporting, analytics and data requirements. Own and manage multiple BI initiatives and work programs on regular and ad-hoc basis.
- Work with different business units within Sales, Marketing, Product and Supply Chain Operations to understand information needs and provide effective, scalable solutions. Support engagement activities to analyze business environments, gather business requirements and create data visualizations in support of work product. Understand the Google Enterprise business and develop strategies for new metrics. Provide technical solutions on internal proprietary technology based on learning’s from industry leading BI solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of work experience in an analyst or highly analytical role.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Engineering.
- Experience with data mining, working with large and multiple datasets/data warehouses and ability to pull from such data sets using relevant programs and coding.
- Proven experience in identifying opportunities for business improvement and defining/measuring the success of those initiatives.
- In-depth experience analyzing data and creating reports with strong spreadsheet, database query experience (e.g. SQL), statistical, quantitative modeling and forecasting skills.
- Strong deck creation and presentation skills to highlight key business opportunities and gaps.
