Senior Business Development Manager - Germany

Territory:
The role is focused on the DACH region with potential opportunities extending to other markets.
Responsibilities:
Market and opportunity analysis.
- Help identify, evaluate and prioritize prospective partners in line with BD priorities.
- Engage with the Product organization and local leadership to understand and, contribute to the product strategy.
- Provide the BD Director and team with detailed overview of the market, including key players, market segmentation, opportunities and recommendations.
- Respond to and field inbound opportunity enquiries.
- Identify and communicate new opportunities beyond what already chartered.
Deal execution.
- Develop, prioritize and execute deal pipeline examining risk and potential as well as understanding the partner’s needs and goals.
- Manage all stages to the deal process, confidently, from negotiation to execution by engaging with both the prospective partners as well as internal stakeholders (i.e. BD Director, Product, Legal, EMEA MD, Biz Ops and Finance as needed)
- Lead term sheet drafting and collaborate with legal on long-form agreement drafting.
- Manage deal sign-off process and documentation.
Partner management.
- Manage and optimise partnerships post deal execution through regular partnership reviews, performance tracking and analysis.
- Assess and execute additional strategic opportunities with existing partners.
- Engage with other BD partner managers to understand performance benchmarks and best practices.
Reports and communications.
- Prepare and present reports to both European leadership, BD Director and BD team.
The successful candidate will work closely with his/her peer based in London to ensure success as a team. As such responsibilities will vary over time, both in terms of additional responsibilities as well as territory coverage.

Minimum requirements also include:
- 7+ years BD experience in the consumer internet space.
- Excellent knowledge of and substantial as well as recent experience in working in the German digital market.
- Strong knowledge of the contractual framework as well as proven ability to lead each stage of the process.
- Strong versatility in working across different business verticals and markets.
- Experienced in working with product teams. Technical background a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Travel required across the EMEA region as well as the US.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience. MBA or equivalent a plus.
- Passion for building and managing partnerships that drive value.
- Proven ability to work in an autonomous, dependable and self-starting manner.
- Ability to engage, share and work as a team with colleagues from both BD as well as other departments.
- Strong attention to detail is essential and drive for excellence.
- Proven problem-solving, strategic and analytical capabilities.
