Media Productions Infrastructure Engineer

San Francisco Bay Area, US - Information Technology and Services

LinkedIn is seeking an experienced Media Production Infrastructure Engineer (Full Time) to join the Media Productions Team. This person will be the main point of contact for all systems that the department depend on daily and will be the liaison between the various supporting teams in GTS and vendors.





Specific Duties:



Duties span across four main areas of focus.



Media Management:



Provide management and maintenance of media workflow systems that include the following:



• Several regional SAN storage configurations with direct fiber to client the macs (Custom Built).

• High speeds interconnect between systems (Aspera).

• Archive cold storage for completed projects (Linux Based).

• Asset management (CatDV or Fork).

• Render farm for high speed media encoding (Elemental).





Content Distribution:



Provide management and maintenance or our content distribution systems that include the following:



• LifeSize Video Center self service recording and streaming system (Global distribution of 8 systems)

• Implementation and migration strategy to Cisco platform (TCS, MXE, Show and Share)

• Kontiki peering streaming.





Service Request Tracking:



Perform basic administration changes to JIRA projects to provide user level access and field updates. Work with Tools team on more advanced changes.



Computer Systems:



Track, manage and maintain all departmental shared computer systems. Work with hardware team on new deployments, reimaging and software provisioning.





Personality and Character:



• Must be able to identify solutions, even in the most challenging of situations

• Ability to work well with all critical supporting departments (Compute, Storage, Network, Video Conferencing, Software Engineering, Tools, Hardware, Security, Supporting Vendors)

• Forward thinking

• Thrive in fast paced and high pressure environments

• Extremely well organized and detail oriented.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills





Experience



• 4+ years in A/V in end to end video production workflows, content management and distribution systems.
