Role Overview
Responsible for translating the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications and/or process designs for custom technical solutions. Analyzes customer requirements and designs solutions to meet the customer objectives and balances the needs of sales and delivery to design a solution that meets or exceeds the requirements of service delivery.
Role Responsibilities
As a managed security provider, Dell SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.
- Solution creation, review and approval for proposed application or infrastructure changes
- Evaluate all new or significantly change of use solutions, as related to IT infrastructure and processes.
- Create / update documentation for all architected solutions.
- Enhance and enforce company architectural policy and procedures.
- Facilitate technical discussions across teams.
- Design, develop and help guide implementation of technical solutions.
- Assist in the creation of architectural guidelines and principles.
- Create and define strategy and roadmaps for all things related to technology.
- Communicate architectural strategy and processes and procedures to our customers (internal and external).
- Work closely with engineering and other customers through all aspects of the SDLC and service delivery process to ensure proper design and capability of the solution.
Qualifications Requirements
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience and/or formal training with solution and/or enterprise architecture.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
- Understanding of operational processes and their relationship to architectural solutions and serves as a technical subject matter expert to both internal and external customers.
- Advanced understanding of analytical techniques for new ways of solving old problems
- Ability to assess the risk and impact of IT application or infrastructure changes and has an understanding of emerging technologies and systems development best practices as applied to the architectural practice.
- Uses expertise to construct solutions that encompass process, technology, project and staffing plans and participates in the construction of cost models for solution bill of materials and other related expenses.
- Composes and/or consults on applicable documents (e.g. Technical Architecture Description Documents, Service Design Package documents, Product Selection matrix and testing, Technical Architecture Working Group submission documentation, etc.) that specify solution, technology, alternative product selection and other aspects of a solution.
Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, we will accept equivalent in education, experience, or both.
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- TOGAF, DODAF, or other recognized Architectural Framework certification or experience.
