The Director, Go-to-Market Sales Operations role is a hybrid of cross-functional strategic planning, program management, and operations. Focus will be on driving the continuous improvement and execution of salesforce.com’s annual Go-to-Market realignment of its selling teams. In this role, the successful candidate will work across teams in Sales Strategy, Human Resources, Finance, IT, and Sales Quota & Compensation to ensure all selling teams transition smoothly to their new selling roles. This role requires familiarity with business processes across all functions, a strong understanding of business automation systems (CRM, HCM, Finance), and a diplomatic approach to conflict resolution. Above all, the successful candidate must maintain a steadfast commitment to the success of the selling teams and a relentless drive to completion on or ahead of committed timelines. This requires bringing strategic vision to the business, identifying new and innovative approaches to existing processes, flexibility to adapt the plan on the fly, and a continued drive for process improvement.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead and continuously optimize the planning and execution of the company’s selling team realignment. Work cross functionally, with our global teams, to define key milestones, dependencies, and risks.

  • Proactively identify, develop and drive longer-term strategies and initiatives that will improve delivery including areas of process and technology improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing/communication teams to ensure changes are widely understood and adopted by the selling teams in the field.


Required Skills/Experience:


  • 8+ years of work experience in sales strategy, sales operations or equivalent function with significant exposure to sales teams, OR experience in management consulting with prior project work in sales, human resources, sales compensation or sales operations

  • BS/BA required; MBA a plus, but not required

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills

  • Stellar problem solving skills

  • Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly to new demands; sense of urgency

  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis, yet translate those results to easily digestible messages, communications, and presentations

  • Experienced manager of high potential individuals




Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Salesforce.com platform Administrator, Developer, or other certification

  • Certification or deep familiarity with business automation systems around salesforce automation, sales compensation, quota, or human resource management

  • Familiarity with Agile software development

  • Experience in program management of highly visible, complex, global programs
