Security Operations Manager

You'll manage the security staff who keep our Googlers safe and our world-class technologies and facilities secure. You'll collaborate with our Facilities Management team to create innovative security strategies, investigate breaches and create risk assessment plans for the future. You believe that providing effective security doesn't come at the expense of customer service - you will be our bodyguard (and our long lost pal).
Reporting to a Campus Security Manager, you will help lead the physical security program for certain locations within Google's operations in Northern California, and in particular will manage Security Supervisors. This includes working with trainers, schedulers and supervisors reporting directly to you to ensure appropriate security coverage across the campus. You will supervise Google employees performing specific security objectives, and monitor vendor performance. You will work with your manager to develop tactical plans for the protection of Google's personnel and facilities consistent with global initiatives and deployed within the region’s budgets and priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Supervisors who in turn lead security officers on campus to respond to emergencies, support planned and unplanned operations, and support events and special activities as needed.
- Work with the Campus Security Manager and others across the organization to develop and implement security standards, policies and practices to make continual improvements and increase the effectiveness of the security program.
- Partner with all Google business units to identify safety and security deficiencies, and develop customized policies and procedures to gain compliance with regulations internal and external to Google.
Minimum qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience managing security operations.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents.
- Experience with standard software applications for communications, productivity and presentation.
- Experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, and Incident Management Systems.
- Experience managing a guard force.
- Proven track record in managing security operations and security personnel and delivering high quality, customer-oriented security programs.
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
