The Linkedin Localization team provides the LinkedIn experience in 23 different languages, with more to come. We're an international team of localization specialists, with people from every part of the world all working together to provide our customers with the best possible experience in their native language.
We're currently looking to expand our localization team and are looking for a Localization Engineer to help us build, enhance and support our localization environment. The Loc Engineer will work with our existing Lead Loc Engineer. Basic responsibilities include:
· Maintain and extend existing localization tools, infrastructure and automation components
· Build new tools and automation components
· Support the Localization team (PMs, Language managers, etc.) for operational issues and special requests
· Help define and evangelize I18N best practices with upstream asset owners
Requirements:
· 2+ years Software Engineering experience
· Experience writing and maintaining code in Java/Javascript/Powershell and/or other languages and frameworks
· Team player, ability to work well with people and to get results through influence
· Comp Sci or related degree or equivalent experience
· Ability to work hard - but also kick loose and have fun!
Preferred qualifications:
· Familiarity with Internationalization and Localization concepts, processes and workflows
· Hands-on experience with SDL World Server or similar TMS systems
· Multilingual, have lived and worked in other countries
