We are looking for a hands-on, driven, challenge-loving and technical product manager to lead both the hybrid and private Database as a Service cloud offerings which are among the fastest growing areas in systems management and strategic to Oracle’s future growth.

 

Department Description:

The Enterprise Manager team is responsible for delivering Oracle's Management solution that encompasses all aspects of cloud management, application performance management, configuration management, provisioning, etc of the entire stack from applications to disk. The group has grown over the years and is now strategic to the growth of Oracle. It boasts of 30000 customers including many Fortune 500/100 companies. Today, it is a key ingredient of every Oracle implementation including Oracle’s own public cloud.

 

To put things in perspective, the Enterprise Manager product family is also the cornerstone of Oracle's Cloud strategy that focuses on Self Service Provisioning, Consolidation planning and Chargeback for databases (DBaaS), middleware (PaaS) and infrastructure (IaaS). Enterprise Manager provides the industries #1 and most comprehensive solution for rolling out an Oracle-based Database as a Service Cloud for users in an enterprise. It offers the broadest and the most complete set of capabilities to build, deploy and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the cloud, all from a single console.

Position Overview:  
Oracle is uniquely positioned to offer the entire stack from applications, platform components like database/middleware, infrastructure components like Virtualization/OS/Servers/Storage/Network and Engineered Systems like Exalogic, Exadata, OVCA. These components enable our customers to deploy private cloud in their own datacenters. Oracle Enterprise Manager provides automation for Private Cloud deployment with capabilities like Infrastructure as a Service, Middleware as a Service, Database as a Service.

You will contribute towards defining and executing Oracle's strategy for Private and Hybrid Cloud management. You will have an opportunity to work on Oracle's entire stack from Applications to Disk and Engineered Systems for Private Clouds.

As Private Cloud inbound product manager, you will lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. 

As a member of the product development division, you will foster relationships with strategic Oracle customers and analyze their requirements for setting future product strategy. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality. 

Job Responsibilities:
The person will be responsible for Product Management activities around Private and Hybrid Cloud Management, such as:

• Rapid Provisioning of compute, network, storage, middleware, databases and applications using self service.
• Enabling cloud policies like elasticity, quotas, access controls, metering, charge back
• Ongoing lifecycle management aspects of private cloud like monitoring, elasticity, patching, configuration management, compliance, backup/recovery, disaster/recovery
• APIs
• Database cloning including storage efficient Snap-Clones based on both Oracle and third-party storage platforms.
• Hybrid Cloud management with resources in Customer's Private Cloud and Oracle's Public Cloud.
