About the Team
With Salesforce.com customer base growing by almost 50% per year, we need from time to time to migrate set of customers from existing service instances (shared server/database instances in a multitenancy model) to new instances. This is done to reduce load on existing instances, or to move customers to new data centers or to better performing hardware. We’re growing the team dedicated to facilitating, improving and automating this process.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a DevOps focused developer to join a world class team of highly motivated software engineers and infrastructure experts to deliver high quality tools, frameworks, dashboards, and APIs to solve Salesforce’s top capacity and automation projects. They are needed to match the staggering growth of our service.

The engineer will be responsible for design, development, unit testing, feature testing and post-release support of tools, frameworks, APIs, and dashboards, that are used by a variety of internal teams at Salesforce.com. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, work in a fast paced, team driven environment, and have the ability to communicate well with non-technical staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and architectural leadership for the infrastructure Engineering teams and Operations roles
  • Design, implement and maintain the infrastructure used to power our service
  • Automate the provisioning, deployment, scaling and monitoring of the platform
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience and performance
  • Provide mentorship to other team members
  • Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience with at least 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software development, or related experience
  • Experience in software testing of all varieties (whitebox, blackbox, exploratory, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts
  • Strong programming skills in Java or C#
  • Strong knowledge in Python or Perl
  • Strong knowledge of test automation tools such as JUnit/NUnit, TestNG, Selenium/WebDriver
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database
  • Experience with Agile or Test Driven development methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
