Job Description
Dell Services Federal Government is seeking a Project Manager (PM). The PM will be responsible for leading client facing infrastructure project tasks. Lead work packages and deliver them on-time, within the allocated budget and on schedule. Ability to execute feasibility, initiation, planning, execution and project close out phases. Complete required project management documentation so that project is monitored and controlled per DSFG processes. Ability to evaluate, analyze, document project requirements, translate into proper system requirement specifications and configuration. Formulates and defines project scope statement and objectives based on both end-user needs and a thorough understanding of client systems, applications and industry requirements. Operates as a liaison between technical personnel and the appropriate end-user department. Evaluates and translates end user needs and problems to technical associates and/or vendors where appropriate. Understands the business implications of technical solutions, and assists in defining and documenting the technology solutions to support any future business needs. Ability to create training and communication documentation for new project implementation.
The mission for Dell is to provide 24 hours, 7 days per week, 365 days per year IT infrastructure to a civilian government customer with a broad extended
customer base.
Required Skills
4+ years experience working as a PM in a Project Management Office.
4+ years experience managing multiple high visibility and strategic IT infrastructure projects.
4+ years experience facilitating and documenting meetings with various stakeholders, SMEs, and multi-discipline project teams.
4+ years experience working effectively with senior IT management and responding to their needs in a timely manner, handling stressful situations as required.
A strong desire, ability, and passion to develop holistic solutions that exceed the customers expectations, no matter the effort required.
Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and work with customers, teams, and management at all levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
4+ years experience defining, developing, maintaining, and publishing project plans.
4+ years experience producing project reports, project documents, and evaluating risks for escalation to PMO management for mitigation.
Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding no matter the level of audience.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Office Suite products and Visio.
Experience facilitating team meetings using such Web meeting products such as MS Live Meeting or other webconference products.
Advanced knowledge of MS Project to document tasks, establish dependencies, assign resources, and track progress.
Desired Skills
Work Experience with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
Ability to manage project tasks with leveraged teams.
Experience working as a Project Manager on Infrastructure client facing project management. Specifically, OS upgrade work package delivery, network infrastructure or security related projects.
Familiarity with DELL Project Management Methodology (PM3).
Experience with CMMI Level 3 project management
Experience in a ITIL environment
Current PMP Certification would be nice but not required.
Current knowledge of the EDUCATE account and customer
