Oracle is currently looking for an Operations Product Manager for the Oracle Cloud Operations team focusing on Oracle Cloud Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) Planning and Management. This role will work closely with Development, Support, Oracle Consulting Services, and third party partners and auditors and be primarily responsible for championing Oracle Cloud Operations requirements across the Oracle Cloud Services portfolio. Additionally, this role will also work on effective documentation and communication of Cloud Operations service capabilities to internal stakeholders, external prospects, and customers. As Oracle is a global company, this role will require occasional travel.
DR/BC is key for the protection of Oracle Cloud business assets through the development, maintenance, testing and distribution of disaster and business recovery plans to ensure the continuity of business services in an adverse situation. Responsible for ensuring that, in the event of a disaster, the Oracle Cloud customer base experiences no disruption to their services. Responsible for coordinating regular audits and tests of the plan and acting as the primary contact person in the area of business resumption, providing education and information to internal associates as well as external clients.
- Provide tactical and strategic planning and direction for the Cloud Operations team; help refine Oracle Cloud DR/BC policy, scope, goals, and objectives; develop detailed work plans and status reports; conduct team meetings, review team deliverable and manage execution of team plans; ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide business & technical guidance to senior leadership, business unit leadership, global business resiliency coordinators, and associates. Become trusted advisor and contribute to raising operational risk and business resiliency awareness throughout the organization.
- Provide direct support to all business units on all aspects of business resiliency planning, including but not limited to business impact assessments, recovery plan development/enhancements, compliance standards, definition of critical functions, and recovery strategies and options.
- Ensure all DR/BC coordinators are adequately trained to fulfill their responsibilities and that they are familiar with the relevant provisions of the Business Continuity plans. Provide access/training to Oracle standard Business continuity tools (BIA, planning, and emergency notification systems).
- Review and update the Business Impact Analysis to maintain recovery requirements and business impacts of a business disruption.
- Work with the Business regarding DR/BC needs and ensure integration of concepts/design for existing/new hardware, software, applications, and processes critical to services. Verify services are in alignment with Business expectations.
- Assist in the development of DR/BC validation criteria, methods and procedures. Assists with the scheduling, coordinating and reviewing all data recovery/business process simulations to assure that the existing plan will result in minimal or no business interruption. Recommend appropriate changes as needed.
- Provide 24x7 support for any emergency which may require activation of all or part of Business Continuity plans. In the event that activation is required, assist recovery/business resumption teams in the implementation of response and alternate operating strategies. If required, function as a business resiliency coordinator during the crisis. Maintain contact with outside business resiliency professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups that participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency management.
