As a software engineer, you work on a small team and can switch teams and projects as our fast-paced business grows and evolves. We need our engineers to be versatile and passionate to tackle new problems as we continue to push technology forward.



As a key member of a small and versatile team, you design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions.



Responsibilities


  • Design, implement and launch highly-visible, user-facing features.

  • Develop new ways for YouTube users to find interesting content.

  • Design and develop large scale web applications.




Minimum qualifications


  • BA/BS in Computer Science

    or equivalent practical experience.

  • Programming experience in C, C++ or Java.

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and network programming.



  • Preferred qualifications


    • MS in Computer Science.

    • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.

    • Programming experience in Python, JavaScript and Flash.

    • Experience in database programming, specifically MySQL.

    • Experience in distributed computing, information retrieval, data mining and machine learning.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ablility to create strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
