As a software engineer, you work on a small team and can switch teams and projects as our fast-paced business grows and evolves. We need our engineers to be versatile and passionate to tackle new problems as we continue to push technology forward.
As a key member of a small and versatile team, you design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and launch highly-visible, user-facing features.
- Develop new ways for YouTube users to find interesting content.
- Design and develop large scale web applications.
Minimum qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science
or equivalent practical experience. - Programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and network programming.
Preferred qualifications- MS in Computer Science.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Programming experience in Python, JavaScript and Flash.
- Experience in database programming, specifically MySQL.
- Experience in distributed computing, information retrieval, data mining and machine learning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ablility to create strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
