We are looking for the passionate, authentic, and dynamic Public Policy leader for LinkedIn in Europe. LinkedIn’s explosive user growth in conjunction with aggressive customer and revenue growth in our Product Solutions businesses makes this a once-in-a-career opportunity.



As LinkedIn’s Director for European Public Policy and Government Affairs, you will be LinkedIn’s representative in the region, actively influencing public policy around some of high technology’s most pressing issues. You will represent LinkedIn externally with government officials, regulators, and policy influencers, as well as manage our European policy strategies and campaigns. You will also work with a cross-functional team of LinkedIn employees in Europe as well as with leaders across to the company to advance policy positions that benefit our members and help accomplish our mission and vision.



Responsibilities


  • Develop a European public policy and government affairs strategy that enables LinkedIn to pursue its vision, mission, and business strategy.

  • In partnership with regional and global leadership, become a LinkedIn ambassador and build positive relationships with key European policymakers and influencers.

  • Engage proactively with policymakers and influencers to highlight LinkedIn’s impact on Europe’s economies and its vision of creating the world’s first an economic graph.

  • Actively monitor relevant legislation and regulation in Europe and formulate strategies to help shape outcomes.

  • Communicate effectively with regional and corporate management of LinkedIn on European public policy and government affairs issues.

  • Work closely with LinkedIn’s global and regional teams to ensure consistency, coordination, and effectiveness in achieving our European public policy and government affairs goals.

  • Work with trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other policy influencers to promote and build support for LinkedIn.


Required Education & Experience


  • Significant and broad experience in the European policy space

  • Direct knowledge of the tech sector or the key issues impacting the Internet including data protection, intellectual property, and free expression

  • University degree – law or advanced degree preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong written and oral communications skills with a talent for turning complex issues into ones that a busy layperson understands easily

  • Proven transformative leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across a multinational organization

  • Highly strategic and entrepreneurial self-starter

  • Integrity-driven, collaborative team player

  • Results-driven and detail-oriented
