During a 8 to 12 week paid, full-time internship, you will be assigned an intern manager who will inspire you, oversee your work, help identify project goals, and support your professional development.
Business Internship assignments are typically offered in the following business areas:
SMB Global Customer Experience: As an SMB Services professional at Google, you will help the SMB team better serve Google's worldwide user base for our AdWords product. This fast-paced support team quickly identifies and resolves customer concerns and contributes to the growth of our programs. Your objective is to continue to hone your account management and relationship-building skills, supporting some of Google's advertisers and agencies by providing the best possible service via phone, email or chat.
SMB Advertising Sales: As an SMB Sales professional at Google, you are always reaching for ambitious performance goals. You work with a wide variety of SMB advertisers delivering the optimal advertising solution for each customer. Your strong interest in sales and the digital economy, entrepreneurial drive and expert product knowledge enable SMB advertisers to expand their businesses with Google's latest advertising products and solutions. Your understanding of online media and your commercial acumen shape how new and existing businesses grow.

Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service and sales support to Google's advertisers, publishers and users, and manage customer inquiries by phone, email, and/or live chat.
- Deliver consistently against assigned tasks, while prioritizing and delivering outstanding customer experience to Google’s advertisers.
- Implement creative ways to improve our client relationships and increase business by promoting other Google products, mostly around AdWords products.
- Provide strategic and consultative advice to help advertisers get the best ROI on their advertising investment and/or solve technical issues for customers.
- Write clear and helpful content to address common questions and issues. Engage with product and engineering teams on issue prioritization and road map and partner with finance, marketing and sales on role definition and process enhancement. Collaborate with Specialists, Engineers and Product team members on new feature development.
Minimum qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in any major and maintaining student status throughout the internship. Priority given to students with an expected graduation date between April 2016 and March 2017.
- Be able to complete a minimum 8 week at the Tokyo office between May and October 2015.
- Returning to education on a full-time basis upon completing the internship.
- Business level communication in Japanese and English.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong interest in the Internet and Google's technology and business.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to see both detail and big picture issues.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability work to in fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Proactive, independent worker with the capacity to lead, motive and work well with others.
