Staff Software Engineer Privacy & Infrastructure

LinkedIn is seeking a talented and experienced software engineer to lead a team of peers to develop key security and privacy infrastructure projects in Dublin. In this highly visible role, you and your team will be responsible for researching, designing and developing innovative technical solutions. You will be recognized for identifying opportunities for security and privacy research and development projects, solving large scale engineering and cross organization problems and leading your team to have meaningful impact on the organization and millions of LinkedIn members. You will partner with cross-functional and distributed teams to evangelize and enable their transition to new practices, tools and frameworks developed by you and your team, ensuring the high quality standards required to maintain our aggressive continuous deployment approach.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team to research, design and develop Privacy & Security systems and tools.
- Produce deliverable results and see them through from development to production.
- Work with distributed teams across different timezones.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science.
- Significant experience in software engineering.
- Experience in security and privacy related projects.
- Exceptional coding skills in one or more modern programming languages.
- Experience in full stack engineering, development of consumer/internet/high traffic applications.
- Proficient in common scripting languages (Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby).
- Strong understanding of Java and Java based service architecture.
- Experience working in large scale distributed systems.
- Quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams with a strong focus on building strong team culture, mentoring and leading by example.
- Must be proactive and self manageable.
- Excellent technical, written, and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
