Job Summary
Working directly for the strategy and capacity team, the infrastructure strategy intern will help model and support complex dimensions that underpin a sustainable growth strategy for Salesforce's global product infrastructure footprint. In this role, the intern will work directly with a team of data scientists, operations research professionals, and the VP of business operations and strategy to translate complex technical concepts into strategic frameworks that can be easily communicated to senior management. The intern will also support work that will be used in our annual capital planning and strategic sourcing efforts.
This is a high visibility role that will require strong working experience. While not required, preference will be given to candidates from management consulting, investment banking, project finance, or similar roles working in corporate strategy in technology, manufacturing, or airline industries.
Specific projects may include:
- Supporting data analysis to support the formulation of long-term strategic recommendations and capital budgeting decisions that optimize for long term sustainable growth
- Conducting economic analysis of a series of emerging deployment scenarios
- Evaluating financial and operating considerations for international market expansion
- Reviewing capital spend with key strategic sourcing vendors
Required Skills / background:- Dexterous, hygienic use of Excel in constructing complex data models
- Fearlessness in hacking complex engineering systems for business reporting purposes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate the analysis of technology concepts into business decisions
- Pursuing a graduate degree in economics, business, applied math or statistics or related field from a top university
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail
- Highly motivated and diligent with the ability to tackle highly strategic and complex business problems
- Strong EQ; ability to distill great complexity into a set of facts that can be quickly and efficiently communicated to senior leadership
- NOT REQUIRED: Tech industry experience
