The Technical Writer’s role is to take complex technical information and communicate it in a well-organized and accurate way. Documents LinkedIn’s internal APIs, infrastructure, systems, tools, and software engineering practices. Is a strong technical writer, works well with engineers, has a deep understanding of software development tools and practices, and can view problems from an engineering perspective. Is a strong writer, has solid analytical and organizational skills, and can quickly understand and communicate complex technical information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Write and organize internal engineering documentation and make it accessible and useful to engineers.
· Document complex internal APIs, infrastructure, systems, tools, and software engineering practices.
· Work with engineers and teams to help solve their information problems.
· Represents the Technical Documentation team on project teams and might perform technical project leadership roles, while fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups.
· Anticipates issues and addresses them proactively.
· Plans, coordinates, and executes documentation projects under only very general direction.
· Expected to participate in the design and development of documentation presentation and distribution systems, and existing processes, recommending solutions and improvements.
· Help to improve the process of organizing and generating documentation.

Desired:
· Prior experience in internet technology.
· Knowledge of Python, Java, or other programming language.
· Expert capability in HTML, Photoshop or Illustrator, MS Office, and Omnigraffle.
Education:
· B.A or B.S. in Technical Communications, computer science, or a related field is required.
Experience:
· 5+ years experience as a technical communicator.
